The mineral and metal industries face significant environmental, sociaand governance (ESG) risks that require effective monitoring and management. The application of artificial intelligence (Al) has the potential tomeasuring and transforming sustainability efforts within these industriesHere, this presentation will explore the importance and barriers of miningin supporting global low-carbon and digital transition. With detailed description of our efforts in developing innovative tools like Mining ESGRe-waste Watch, and Carbon Digital-Twin, the presentation will discussthe frontiers of Al applications in supporting global monitoring and management of minerals and metals sustainability.
主讲人简介:
汪鹏,中国科学院城市环境研究所研究员,澳大利亚新南威尔士大学博士和博士后国家人社部高层次留学人才、中科院 BR 计划候选人才及中国科协青年托举人才,主要从事基于人工智能的稀土、锤、铂族等战略性资源供应链及环境 ESG 风险管控研究以第一/通讯作者 (含共同)在 Nature Geoscience (封面)、One Earth、NatureCommunications 等国内外专业期刊发表论文 40 多篇:担任 Journal of CleanerProduction 副主编、Science of the Total Environment 编委及国际关键金属圆桌论坛 IRTC、世界稀土产业协会 REIA 绿色评估委员会、国际科学理事会 ISC 塑料污染委员会等机构委员;研究成果及工具为提升新能源固废循环能力、国家关键物质供应安全及国际环境可持续发展提供重要支撑。
